THE VAULT SERIES
During the regular process of tasting each barrel of NED during maturation, we discover barrels of exceptional quality. In whisky we call these "unicorns". Often we use these to heighten blends or for special releases, and we've now launched the Vault series to showcase the very best unicorns in single barrel form.
BOTTLED AT 58%
Slightly reduced from natural cask strength, this was deemed the optimal strength to keep all the power of flavour while taming the alcohol heat. Feel free to add a drop of water and don't worry if it goes cloudy - at this strength that's natural.
INDIVIDUALLY NUMBERED
We got 261 bottles out of this barrel, though the actual number for sale is lower once we've taken staff and tasting bottles. Unfortunately we 're unable to accomodate requests for specific numbers.
PURE AND POWERFUL
This is a big whisky, tt's not for everyone, but it does provide an insight into our whisky in its most natural form, allowing you to taste what we do every day in the barrelhouse.
Aroma: Treacle, vanilla essence and brown sugar gives way to deep grain and oak. It's big, has great depth and beautifully integrated.
Palate: Cinnanon spices with vanilla, caramel and sultanas. Milk chocolate and a hint of molasses.
Finish: Firm and structured, the return of brown sugar lingers with silky vanilla, treacle. Flawless oak integration.
